Art Design Film                                               

Art Design Film offers fundamental instructions film creating like  screenwriting, directing, editing, natural documentary films, sound and animation. Integrated are theory and practice.

Professionell skills in filming and tracking in sensitive locations like surgery rooms in hospitals or dust sensitive industrial areas.

Professionals bringing in their experience over years.They provide special knowledge in filming special areas .

Filmmaking: Workshop programs

Courses 2012

Students can report to workshop programs starting July 1st, 2012
and August 22, 2012.

Each course lasts from 4 weeks.

Workshop programs cover film creating, screenwriting, directing, editing and sound.

Students can choose between subjects.

Unexperienced students are required to take basic courses
in a five day crash course. Second workshop students focus
specialized action trainings and intensive practice.

Items within courses :

- screenwriting sound design lighting workshops

- editing documentary film make-up seminar

- photography & composition animation

Students are expected to collect a large amount of material while in the Yukon.

Depending on their graduation crews of four to five students will be
created.

An end-of-workshop-film (5 minutes) must be created.

Upon program student must show short films or a feature film.

Screenwriting

Screenwriting classes cover the fundamentals of writing
in the context of film. Also writing assignments, classroom critique and script analysis are duty.

Students work on scripts for class-related exercises and for end of workshop short films, five minutes in length.

Advanced students are involved in dramaturgy, writing workshop and project work.

The Writing Workshop contains various aspects of screenwriting through weekly writing assignments.

Project Work include a 15 minute short film script which will be prepared for production.

Students also have the opportunity to work on larger pieces.

Directing

The course treats the basics of film language, covering topics like action, camera, actors, sound, and more.

Creatively interpreting and storyboarding a script, realizing and editing images and supervising post production is duty. The course includes lectures and film analysis.
Several exercises are assigned.

Cinematography

Basic principles of the cameraman's craft are treated.

Composition, continuity, shot sequencing and basic lighting are also covered.

Students must complete a number of in and out of class exercises. The cinematography course is integrated with the directing and editing classes

Students must be familiar with the basics of operating DVCAM or DIGICAM.

Catching nature features : Camera placement, movement and angles, creating atmosphere through colors, lighting and more.

Editing

The course covers technical and aesthetic components of digital
editing. Using Pinnacle, students will learn to organize source footage, edit sync and non-sync material, trim sequences, edit audio, add effects, titles and more.
Students will be instructed in different editing genres.
Editing documentaries to serials to feature a film. Special effects, advanced grading, sound design and more complex editing techniques
will also be instructed.  

Outdoor Recording :

The course covers recording on outdoor location, capturing sound.
Locations in Haines Alaska while bear or whale watching include
trips to exceptionel places.
